We signed up for TicNote's Professional plan ($12.99/month, 1,500 transcription minutes) on July 19, 2026, and used it daily through July 29, an 11-day window chosen to cover a full working fortnight rather than a single week of good behaviour. We recorded 14 real meetings through the Chrome extension on Google Meet and Zoom web, uploaded 6 supporting documents, and assigned Shadow Agent 9 separate generation tasks: two client report drafts, one 8-slide deck, one mind map, one podcast script, and four ad hoc questions against the project knowledge base. We did not test TicNote's physical hardware recorder, a separate product from the same company; only the cloud software reachable from any browser. ROI breakdown: At our testing pace, 14 meetings averaging roughly 32 minutes plus 9 Shadow Agent tasks, we used about 450 of our 1,500 monthly Professional minutes and roughly half the 3,000 Shadow Credits. Final verdict
TicNote earns its place on this page because of what happens after the meeting, not during it. If your search for an otter ai review was really a search for a better live transcript, captions scrolling as people talk, Otter.ai remains the more mature choice on that single point. But if the transcript was never the finish line, if what you actually wanted was a report, a slide deck, or an answer with a working citation back to the exact minute someone said it, TicNote's Shadow Agent does something Otter.ai's product doesn't currently attempt.
